I ordered my camera a month before it came out and was one of the first to get it. Since then I have updated the firmware twice now. The first update was to firmware 1.1.1. and now to the new firmware 1.1.2. Canon has released a bug-fixing firmware update for its EOS 5D Mark II full-frame DSLR. Firmware v2.0.8 addresses specific issues with video recording, live-view and flash settings. The latest version can be downloaded from Canon's website.

Thanks for the help - After multiple steps of troubleshooting, it actually appears that the camera was not happy about the Neewer Battery Grip being on the camera. Once I took the grip off, and put the battery door back on, it took off running just like it should.
