Comparisons – Hoka Speedgoat 5 vs.: Hoka Speedgoat 4. The Hoka Speedgoat 4 is from 2019 and weighs about 15 g/0.5 oz more. The stack height is similar, but the underfoot feel is firmer. The (less flexible) upper uses more overlays – time will tell if the Hoka Speedgoat 5 is sturdy. The foot lockdown is also tighter on the SG4.
The model runs under the Hoka recovery line and is designed to provide a forgiving impact and support by having a higher bed of soft cushion with a weight of 476.27 g and a Heel-To-Toe Drop of 6mm. I bought the shoes for him as I myself have had the Hoka One One Flip Flops for the past 3 years and wear them around the house daily.
The new Hoka Bondi 5 is said to be the next iteration of the Bondi legacy. Bondi is the first ever shoe under the Hoka One One brand that was intended for road running. Hoka One One Bondi 8 features: Vegan engineered mesh upper offers a comfortable feel. Partially gusseted tongue and mesh lining with recycled content provide snugness. OrthoLite hybrid (recycled) sockliner delivers a plush feel. Lightweight, resilient foam midsole adds a bouncy feel. Heel pull tab allows for easy on and off.
Comparisons – Hoka Bondi X vs.: Hoka Bondi 7. Testers unanimously noted a clear improvement from one model to the next. The Bondi X is lighter, more responsive, and (icing on the cake) offers even softer cushioning than the Bondi 7. There’s one significant difference: the price, which rises from $220 to $150.
Hoka One One Arahi 5 9. Running shoes that focus on stability are never traditionally all that sexy. They tend to come in just a few colors and are always a bit overweight due to the support elements that have been added. Obviously this is a stiff shoe, it is fully carbon plated. At 69.4N on our flex test, it’s way above the average shoe at just 38.8N. And in cold temps this shoe stiffens up even more. This is one downside to EVA midsoles, and measured 88.6N, a 27.7% increase in stiffness in our cold tests.

The fifth-generation Hoka One One Clifton 5 arrived in retail stores a few months ago, and the fourth-generation Clifton 4 is being phased out (REI clearance here).
