Y are the Budget phones. Mate and P are equivalent to Samsung's Note and S or LG's G and V (respectively). The Mate and P series are also the company's flagships. The P series is usually released first introducing new features while the Mate is released usually at the end of the year and it takes some features from the P and refines them. Great.
The Mate 20 Pro is now almost 4 years old, and the specs is no doubt outdated. But gosh, thanks to the KIRIN chip and EUMI optimization, I have no hesitation to say it could possibly stand up against a lot of good phones in 2022.
